Maria Rosa (Dos Santos) Pereira, age 86, loving wife of the late Americo Pereira, passed away on February 20, 2020 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 3, 1933 in Obidos, Portugal, a daughter of the late Antonio F. Dos Santos and Rosa Maria Ribeiro. Maria was a communicant of Holy Name of Jesus Parish. She worked for the former John R. Lyman Co. for many years before she retired. Maria enjoyed spending time gardening but mostly she loved being with her family. She is survived by her 2 sons, Antonio Pereira and his wife Georgina of Chicopee and Ramiro Pereira and his wife Cynthia of Palmer; 2 daughters, Dolores Da Costa and her husband Manuel of Chicopee and Isaura Cravo and her husband Fernando of West Hartford; 1 brother, Francisco Dos Santos and his wife Emilia of RI; 1 sister, Rosa Dos Santos of Chicopee; 8 beloved grandchildren, Nelson and his wife Jennifer, Sandra and her husband Jeffrey, Nicholas and his wife Shanon, Timothy and his wife Rebecca, Jennifer, Erik and his fiancé Tatianna, Brandon and Melissa. She also leaves 5 great grandchildren, Madison, Chloe, Troy, Drew and Graham. She also leaves her sister-in-law Alice Pereira of Portugal, and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her daughter Louiza Maria Pereira and a sister, Felicidade Sousa. Calling hours will be held on the morning of the funeral, Tuesday, February 25, 2020 from 9:00 – 10:30 AM at the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in Holy Name of Jesus Parish in Assumption Church. Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery.
