SPENCER: Blanche E. (O'Coin) Hemenway,91, formerly of 33 Ash St., Spencer
died Sunday, Feb. 5 at Quaboag on the Common in W.Brookfield.
She was the wife of Francis T. Hemenway who died in 1995. She leaves two
sons Thomas H. and his wife Nancy M. Hemenway of Torrington, Ct. and
Hypoluxo, Fl., James A. Hemenway of Spencer, a daughter A.Marie McDevitt of
Spencer, six grand children, Mark, Todd, Timothy and Thomas Hemenway,
BethAnn Lapierre and Michael Hagloff, ten great grandchildren Sara, Madison,
Noah, Grace, Samuel, Jack and Brady Hemenway, Trevor, Jacob and Malorie
Spence. She is predeceased by a sister Lorraine Gagne.
Mrs. Hemenway was a long time cafeteria worker at Lake Street School in
Spencer, retiring in 1965. She was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Parish
and former member of its' Women's Guild. She graduated from David Prouty
High School where she ran track and played basketball.
Born in Spencer, she was the daughter of Alfred and Corrinne (Gaudette)
O'Coin and lived here all of her life.
The funeral will be held Wednesday, Feb. 8 from the J.HENRI MORIN & SON
FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of
the Rosary Church, 7 Church St., Spencer. Burial will follow in Mary,Queen
of the Rosary Cemetery, Spencer. Calling hours are Tuesday, Feb. 7 from 4 to
7p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to either the Spencer
Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 147, Spencer 01562 or Guardian Hospice, 47 E.Main
St., W.Brookfield, Ma. 01585.
