Obituary


Mr. Frank W. Esielionis, age 94, of Wilmington passed away, Tuesday, February 18, 2020, at the Winchester Hospital. He was the beloved husband for 72 years of Lillian G. (George) Esielionis. Born in Maynard he was the only child of the late Frank and Amelia (Pazericky) Esielionis.

Frank was raised and educated in Maynard. He enlisted into the United States Marine Corp in 1943 and honorably served until 1946 during WWII. He attained the rank of Corporal and served overseas in the Asiatic Pacific Theater and participated in action in Okinawa at the Battle of Sugar Loaf Hill. When Frank returned home from the war He began working at B.F. Goodrich in Watertown as a shipper receiver. He remained there for twenty years. He then began his career with the United States Postal Service and worked as a Letter Carrier for many years until his retirement in 1995.

Frank was an avid Boston sports fan and he also enjoyed gardening and feeding and watching the local birds. However, his greatest joy was his family and nothing gave him more joy than to be surrounded by those he loved.

In addition to his beloved wife, Lillian, Frank is survived by his children David Esielionis and his wife Vonnie, Paul Esielionis and his wife Anna, Jeanne Longo and her husband Jim, all of Londonderry, NH. He was the loving grandfather of Matt and Tara Esielionis, Claire and Anthony Esielionis, Larry and Gemma Longo.

Funeral services will be held from the Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 374 Main St., WILMINGTON Friday, February 21st, at 11 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass celebrated in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 851 Main St., Woburn, at 11:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and visit with the family prior to the funeral Mass at the Dello Russo Family Funeral Home from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Services will conclude military honors and burial at Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington.
