BONCEK, Dennis James of Dedham, left us suddenly on February 16, 2020. Son of Elizabeth and the late Thomas N. Boncek of East Dedham. Loving brother of Thomas M. Boncek of Dedham; Pauline Boncek of Tampa, Florida; Brenda Boncek of Dedham; Patricia Boncek of Quechee, Vermont; Laura Boncek of Lebanon, New Hampshire; and Sandra Hume of Fort Collins, Colorado. Loving uncle to Danielle Simmons, Kendra Wilson, Dennis Walch, Paul Walch, Nick Walch, Jamie Fletcher, Shaunna Hafford, Luke Hafford, Sky Hume, Wilder Hume, and Timber Hume. Loving great-uncle to nine great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas N. Boncek, in 1990.
Dennis was known by everyone around the town of Dedham all his life. He astounded others with his impeccable memory. He was a very kindhearted and generous man who enjoyed the simple things in life. His quick wit and sense of humor will be remembered fondly. From childhood he was an avid bowler and spent many enjoyable hours in his later years at the bowling alley.
Visiting hours at the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St., Dedham, on Thursday, February 20, from 4-8pm. Funeral from the Funeral Home on Friday, February 21 at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 420 High St., Dedham at 10am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Interment in Brookdale Cemetery, Dedham. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dennis’ memory to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
