Obituary

Annette Luongo, a resident of Medford for 50 years, died peacefully at her home in Hampton, New Hampshire, where she has lived for the past 17 years. She was just 2 days shy of her 77th birthday.

Annette was born in Boston, Massachusetts. She was the daughter of the late Richard Luongo and Helen (Lutek) Luongo. A graduate of Medford High School, Annette worked for many years at the Charlestown Navy Yard until it’s closing in 1974. She also worked at the Holiday Inn in Somerville until her retirement.

Annette loved the holidays and enthusiastically decorated her home for each one. She often reminisced and laughed about how she used to bang the pots and pans on the front porch to ring in the New Year. She loved game shows and mysteries, James Cagney, and The Golden Girls.

Annette especially loved her family. She leaves behind her brother Steven of Medford and her brother Richard and his wife Virginia of Hampton, New Hampshire. She also leaves her nephews, John and Anthony and her sister in law Mary, all of Medford. She leaves her niece Jaclyn and great niece Sophia of Tewksbury, her niece Lauren of Redwood, California, and her niece Lindsey of Saugus.

A memorial service will be planned for a later date.
