NEW BEDFORD… Jaime Tavares, 59, of New Bedford passed away at his home on February 1, 2020.
Born in St Michael, Azores, he was a son the late Norberto and Maria I. (Medeiros) Tavares and had lived most of his life in New Bedford.
Mr. Tavares was A graduate of New Bedford High School and was employed by Cornell Dubilier Electronics in New Bedford until he was unable to return to work due to his battle with M.S. He enjoyed shopping and drawing.
Survivors include his brothers: Jose Tavares of Dartmouth and Norberto Tavares, Jr, of New Bedford; a sister: Maria T. Cimbron of New Bedford; several nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Funeral Mass to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Saturday, February 22, 2020 at 9 AM at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 230 Bonney St. New Bedford, MA 02744. Arrangements are entrusted to South Coast Funeral Home, 1555 Pleasant St. Fall River, MA 02723.
