George M. Festa, Jr. of Medford died on Saturday, February 15. Born in Somerville, he was raised and educated in Medford, the son of the late George and Rita (Moscardini) Festa. George worked for many years as a chair-car driver for Cataldo Ambulance Service. He loved all types of music, was a wonderful dancer, and was happiest when grilling in his backyard for family and friends.
George was the beloved husband of Angelica (Ialongo) Festa, and the dear brother of Thërëse Festa of Malden, Celine Devlin and her husband John of Tewksbury, and Mark Festa of Georgia. He was the dear brother-in-law of Mario Ialongo and his wife Mary of Medford, and loving uncle of Isabella Ialongo. George was the dear uncle of Mark Festa Jr. of Florida.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Friday, February 21 at 9:30 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Catherine of Genoa Church, 179 Summer St., Somerville, at 10:30 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Thursday, February 20 from 4 through 8PM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
