John Thomas Wiggins, 83, of Ocilla, Georgia, died Saturday, February 15, 2020 at Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare, in Tallahassee, Florida.
Funeral services will be held 1 PM, Thursday, February 20, 2020, at Mt. Union Primitive Baptist Church in Coffee County, with Elder Walt DeLoach officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, from 6 PM until 8 PM, at the funeral home in Ocilla.
Mr. Wiggins was born October 11, 1936, in Fayette, Alabama, to the late Johnny William Wiggins & Leila Mae Newman Wiggins. He graduated from Irwin County High School. Mr. Wiggins was a former employee of the Ocilla Theater and The Paulk Funeral Home in Ocilla. He retired after 33 years of service with Liberty National Insurance Company as a salesman. Mr. Wiggins was a member of Mt. Union Primitive Baptist Church.
He is survived by his daughter, Nelda P Walker of Irwin County; grandson, Brett Walker-Rutherford & John Rutherford of Ocilla and a brother, Donald Wiggins & Brenda of Fitzgerald. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ella Mae Fussell Wiggins; three infant brothers and a brother, Douglas Wiggins.
