Obituary

Linda M. (Murray) Ross, a lifelong Charlestown resident, entered into eternal life suddenly on February 14, 2020 at the Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington with family beside her while listening to the music of her favorite country singer, Mickey Gilley. She was 68 years of age. She became ill while playing BINGO, a game she loved.

Linda was born in Charlestown on November 17, 1951, a daughter of the late James P. Murray and Henrietta E. (Carroll) Murray. She enjoyed all aspect's of Charlestown's history and community, where she had family and lifelong friends to celebrate holidays and local events, especially the Bunker Hill Day Parade. She worked at the Kennedy Center and upon retiring, Linda embarked on new adventures with the Golden Age Senior Center.

Having recently moved to Woburn into a home designed specially for her, Linda was embraced by her new neighbors. She quickly created friendships with the staff and fellow seniors at the Woburn and Burlington Senior Centers. Linda also enjoyed her annual visits with her brother Jim in Las Vegas, as well as trips to Foxwoods. Her most memorable vacation was a trip to Disney World with her great nieces.

Linda was predeceased by her parents James and Henrietta (Carroll) Murray, her brother Thomas, and her husband Kimball "Kim" Ross.

Linda is survived by her two brothers James "Jim" Murray of las Vegas and Charlestown, and Jerry Murray and his wife Joanne of Woburn, her sister-in-law and dear friend Mary Murray, nieces Cyndi Moler and her husband Jim, Sheila O'Mara and her husband Ed, and her nephew Jerry and his wife Jane. She is also survived by her great-nieces, great-nephews, and many cousins.

The Murray family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Linda's physician Dr. James A. Morill at the MGH Charlestown Healthcare Center, Armstrong Ambulance, the Emergency Department and MICU staff at the Lahey Clinic for their kind and compassionate care of Linda.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Linda's visiting hour on Saturday morning, February 22, 2020 from 8:30 A.M. to 9:30 A.M. in the Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass at 10 A.M. in St. Mary's Church, 55 Warren St. Charlestown. Her burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden.
