Obituary

James R. (Jim) Brown, 75, of Atlanta, Georgia, died Saturday, February 4, 2005, at his residence.

Funeral services will be held 2 P.M., Tuesday, February 7, 2006 at Briarlake Baptist Church, 3215 Lavista Road, Decatur, Georgia, with Rev. Kelly Brown, Dr. Clay Brown, Dr. Tommy Ferrell, Dr. Joel Snider and Mr. Hunter Lewis officiating. Interment will follow in the Crest Lawn Memorial Park. The Family will receive friends from 4 to 6 P.M. Monday evening at A.S. Turner & Sons, 2773 North Decatur Road, Decatur, GA.

Mr. Brown was born July 30, 1930, in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Arthur and Daisy Hall Brown. He was a graduate of O’Keefe High School and Georgia State University. He was retired from General Paper Company. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, a member of Briarlake Baptist Church and the Progressive Men’s Sunday School Class.

Mr. Brown is survived by his wife: Judy Hall Brown, of Atlanta; two sons: Rev. Kelly (Donna) Brown, Fitzgerald, GA and Dr. Clay (Gayle) Brown of Monticello, AR; one daughter: Cherry (Joel) Snider, Rome, GA; two step-children: Hunter Lewis of Boston, MA and Stephanie Lewis of Atlanta, GA; seven grandchildren: Rachel Snider, Jordan Snider, Ryan Brown, Kelsey Brown, Dottie Grace Brown, Natalie Brown and Courtney Lewis. Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Baker Brown and a brother.

Memorial in lieu of flowers may be sent to Fitzgerald First Baptist Church Restoration Fund, P. O. Box 367, Fitzgerald, GA 31750 or the American Heart Association.
