Louise Oliver Baker, 66, of Omega, Georgia passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 9, 2020, surrounded by her family. She was born on October 25, 1953 in Tifton and was a lifelong resident of Omega. Louise was a graduate of Tift County High School and Valdosta State University and retired from the Tift County School System in 2018 as a devoted educator. She taught school in Omega and Tifton for over 35 years and influenced thousands of lives.
As a child, Louise attended Omega United Methodist Church. She later joined and raised her family at Antioch Baptist Church in Omega and has, in recent years, been faithfully attending and serving at Grace Baptist Church in Adel, GA, where her son, Brad, is pastor. Louise was proud to be a member of the famous “Omega Supper Club”, where friendship lives on forever.
Louise was a faithful wife, loving mother, generous grandmother and loyal friend. She enjoyed reading, trying new recipes, spending time with friends, watching and cheering for her grandchildren at sporting events and performances and following SEC football. Louise made a difference in the lives of so many.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gene and Elouise Oliver and her brother, Bobby Oliver. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Wayne Baker of Omega; her three sons and daughters-in-law, Brad and Brandy Baker of Hahira, GA; Chad and Amy Baker of Snellville, GA and Zachary and Amanda Baker of Lenox, GA; her nine grandchildren, who were the joy of her life, Hannah Baker of Tifton, Sarah, Nathan and Mary Baker of Hahira, Katie, Adam, Emily and Alex Baker of Snellville and Eli Baker of Lenox; her mother-in-law, Maydean Baker of Omega; and numerous extended family members.
Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. February 11, 2020, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals in Tifton.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on February 12, 2020, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Brad Baker officiating. Burial will follow at Omega Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Brad Baker, Chad Baker, Zachary Baker, Nathan Baker, Adam Baker, Alex Baker and Eli Baker.
