Ernest F. Lessa, 79, of Lynn, passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, with his family by his side, following a long illness.
Born in Lowell, he was the son of the late Frank and Kathryn (Haines) Lessa. He was employed by General Electric Riverworks in Lynn for over 30 years as a Utility Clerk. Following his retirement he volunteered as an Ombudsman servicing nursing homes in the greater Lynn area. Ernie also was a volunteer at the Boston Soup Kitchen prior to his illness. He was an avid Red Sox and Navigator fan.
Ernie leaves his daughter, Suzanne K. O’Brien-Wallace and her husband Burke of Peabody, and grandchildren, Caitlyn Lessa of Lynn, Jacklyn DiLeo and her husband Jon of N Billerica, David O’Brien of Arlington, VA, and his former wife, Jeannette I. (Corbin) Lessa of Lynn as well as nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Michael E. Lessa and grandson Michael Lessa, Jr.
