CLEARY, Joanne M. (Clifford), of Winthrop, passed away suddenly on February 7, 2020. She was 75 years old. Born in Winthrop, she was the cherished daughter of the late Theodore and Marie (Malloy) Clifford.
Joanne was a member of the Winthrop Lodge of Elks #1078. She was a graduate of the Winthrop High School Class of 1962 and a graduate of the Mansfield Beauty Academy. Prior to her retirement, she was an office clerical worker for the New England Life Insurance Company. Joanne also worked in Jeveli’s Restaurant in East Boston and for the Viking Cab Company in Winthrop.
Joanne is survived by her husband John J. Cleary, her devoted son Sean J. Cleary of Winthrop and her dear brother Theodore C. Clifford of Winthrop. At the request of the family, her funeral service will be private.
