She was a lifelong aficionado of music and instilled a lifelong love of music in her children. She enjoyed attending concerts, musicals, skating events and travel. A talented seamstress and crafter, she applied her skills to knitting hats and mittens for the homeless and working in charity drives for the March of Dimes, the American Heart Association and the American Cancer Society. Bernie is survived by her son Mark Girard and daughter-in-law Diane Godek of Southampton, MA, her step-grandchildren Angelique and Andrea Cordeaux, her daughter Catherine Girard and son-in-law Gerard Lafleur of Manchester, CT and many cherished godchildren, nieces and nephews.
