Sandra J. Turner (Sandie) Head Cashier for Tewksbury Home Depot Store

TEWKSBURY: Sandra Jo (Bever) Turner, age 63, a resident of Tewksbury for 23 years, and a member of the Tewksbury United Methodist Church, passed away at home in the care of her family and hospice on Wednesday, February 5, 2020.

She was the beloved wife of Wayne A. Turner, with whom she would have celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary on October 14, 2020.

Born in Leominster on March 3, 1956, she was the daughter of the late Robert H. Bever and the late Rachel A. (Walton) (Bever) Goodman, and step daughter of the late Leonard J. Goodman.

Sandie was raised in Fitchburg and New Britain, CT and graduated from Fitchburg High School in 1974.

Sandie attended New Hampshire College where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources. She spent many years in social work serving children, families and the handicapped in MA and NH.

She was employed as Head Cashier at the Tewksbury Home Depot for the past 5 years, and previously worked in collaboration with Home Depot to give work training and work experience to handicapped individuals.

Sandie will always be remembered for her infectious smile, laughter and the ability to make everything fun. She was always up for singing and dancing and listening to music, or just making her own music. She enjoyed life to the fullest and let nothing get her down.

Sandie enjoyed spending time with family and was always ready to lend a helping hand whenever needed. She also enjoyed reading, sewing, dancing, spending days at the beach, following NASCAR auto racing, and listening to music, especially the songs of Rod Stewart.


She was the mother of Daniel Filteau and his wife Jamie, Jaclyn Nicoll and her husband Barry, Darlene Roman and her husband Jaime, Darrin Turner, Jennifer Turner, and Joelene Arnold. Grandmother of Casey Mathison, Haley Hines, Elise Nicoll, and the late Justin Bissett. Sister of Belinda Scott, Robin Norton and her late husband Bill, Cheryl Engel and her husband Mark, Lori Goodman, Kristine “Ruth” Goodman-Boddie and her husband Hiram, Edward J. Bever and his wife Carrie, and the late Donna Bever, Robert Bever II, Scott Bever and Elizabeth Goodman. She also leaves many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Calling hours are Monday, Feb. 10, from 4-8 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Her funeral procession will begin Tuesday, Feb. 11, at 9 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by her funeral service at 10 a.m. at the Tewksbury United Methodist Church, 2335 Main Street, Route 38 (corner of South Street), Tewksbury. Services will conclude with interment at Tewksbury Cemetery.
