Madeleine M. (Zussy) Rioux, 93, of Acushnet passed away peacefully February 3, 2020 at Sippican Healthcare Center.
She was the wife of the late Alfred E. Rioux.
Daughter of the late Eugene and Cecile (Jacquerez) Zussy, she was a lifelong resident of New Bedford before moving to Acushnet 12 years ago.
She and her husband were inseparable. They enjoyed spending their time together going for walks, woodworking and creating stained glass pieces. Most important to her was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. When not with her family, she could always be found doing her word searches and crossword puzzles.
She is survived by her 3 children: Marc Rioux and his wife Claire of Bedford, NH, Paul Rioux and his wife Janet of New Bedford and Michele Meunier and her husband Robert of Acushnet; 9 grandchildren: Chad (Jenn) Rioux, Monique (Jon) Rice, Justin (Ashley) Rioux, Aimee (Angelo) Antidormi, Timothy (Beth) Rioux, Kimberly Rioux, Bryanne Meunier, Jenna (Brandon) Douglas and Jillian (Matt) Sullivan; 11 great-grandchildren: Madeleine, Aisley, Olivia, Alida, Max, Grace, Tessa, Anna, Avery, Owen, Emma and another on the way; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Robert Zussy, Armand Zussy, Marguerite Plourde and Aline Ferreira.
Her family would like to thank the staff of Sippican Healthcare Center for their exceptional care and kindness to Madeleine over the past year.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, February 7th at 11 AM at St. John Neumann Church. Her family will receive guests at church Friday morning from 9:30 - 11 AM, prior to her Mass. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
