Memorial services for Mr. Donald Leon Padgett, 89, of Ashburn, GA will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, February 8, 2020 at Perry Funeral Chapel. Mr. Padgett passed away Sunday at his residence following an extended illness.
The son of the late Homer and Sylvia Padgett, he was born in Turner County and was retired from the City Of Ashburn as Department head of The Public Works Department. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Phillip Padgett.
He was a member of The Ashburn First Baptist Church and served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Mr. Padgett never met a stranger and was an icon to the City Of Ashburn.
Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Jewell Tomlinson Padgett of Ashburn; his grandchildren, Victoria Carlini, Sabrina Kaar, Kip Padgett and his daughter in law Lee Padgett all of Gainesville, FL and four great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until the hour of services at Perry Funeral Chapel on Saturday.
