Nora M. (Daigneault) Laferriere, age 76, passed away on January 31, 2020 at Baystate Medical Center. She was born on Sept. 18, 1943 in Ludlow, a daughter of the late Eugene and Marion (Patre`) Daigneault. Nora worked as a clerk for Bradlee’s Department Store for many years. She also worked in the Chicopee School System as a cafeteria worker and at the Goodwill. Nora was a communicant of the former Assumption Parish. She was the Past President of the VFW Post 625 in Chicopee. Nora enjoyed knitting, playing guitar and especially loved to dance. She is predeceased by her husband Robert Laferriere who passed away in 2011. She is survived by 3 daughters, Lisa Laferriere of Agawam, Theresa Vieu and her husband Thomas of Chicopee and Pauline Mattoon and her husband Jack of Chicopee; 4 grandchildren, Jack Laferriere, Joshua Vieu, Todd Vieu and his wife Amanda and Jessica Mattoon and her partner Patrick; 3 great grandchildren Mackenzie, Kadence and Cole along with many nieces, nephews and extended family. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2020 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, Feb. 6, 2020 at 11:00 AM in Holy Name of Jesus Parish in Assumption Church, 104 Springfield St, Chicopee, MA 01013. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, www.Heart.org. Burial will be private at a later date.
