Emma E. (Stringer) Ward, 94, of Dartmouth, passed away on Friday, January 30, 2020 at St. Luke's Hospital. She was wife of the late Bert Ward.
Born in New Bedford, she was daughter of the late Charles and Leah R. (Wagstaff) Stringer. Prior to retirement, she had worked for Union Street Railway of New Bedford. Mrs. Ward also worked for the Fall River Unemployment Office in Fall River, Quaker Oats, Cornell Dubilier and St. Luke's Hospital all in New Bedford. She was a member of Calvary Bible Church, Westport. An avid traveler, she often served as a tour guide in her travels.
Survivors include a son: William E. Ward and his wife Domciely of the Philippines; a daughter: Alice E. Kindstedt and her husband Donald of NC; a brother: Charles Stringer of FL; a sister: Ethel Couza of Dartmouth; 7 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was sister of the late William Stringer and James Stringer.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at the Potter Funeral Home at 11:00 AM.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 10-11 AM prior to the service.
Burial will be in Friends Cemetery, Dartmouth.
