Veronica H. (Genereux) Frias, 74, of Acushnet passed away Sunday January 26, 2020 after a courageous six-year battle with illness. She was the wife of Raymond C. Frias.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Henry and Doris (Booth) Genereux, she lived in New Bedford for many years before moving to Acushnet 20 years ago.
Veronica, also known as Verney, was a very warm hearted, caring woman who served her family and community as a certified nursing assistant for over 17 years. She was a very wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She was so welcoming to all those who entered her home. She loved to cook for her family, to have fun, and to dance. We can’t forget how she loved her small dogs. You have always been our angel on earth Mom and we will miss you dearly.
She is survived by her husband Raymond; three children, Lark Adam Frias, Nancy Kim Seiders and her husband Craig, and Matthew J. Frias; her stepson, Raymond Frias; seven grandchildren, Adam, Matthew, Michael, Abbey, Rachel, Jacob, and Tyler; a great-grandson, Tyson; and nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Larry Genereux, Jenny Gifford, Pearl Hession, and Shirley Farias.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Saturday February 1, 2020 at 9:30 AM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery.
