Obituary

Charles W. Miller, 83, of Wade Drive in Greenville, died Monday, January 13, 2020 at Manatee Memorial Hospital in Bradenton, Florida with his children by his side. He was the husband of the late Marjorie M. (Carlow) Miller. They had been married for 51 years before her death in October, 2009.

Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Charles L. and Gertrude E. (Maynard) Miller. He had lived in Cranston for 23 before moving to Smithfield for the past 60 years.

He was the Owner and President of DeSoto Soft Enameling Company.

He was a 52-year member of Roger Williams Lodge #32, York Rite, Scottish Rite, RI Shriners Motor Corp, Ring Master, Assistant Chief Aide, four time Chief Steward, Royal Order of Jesters, and the Smithfield Lodge of Elks, #2359.

He served in the US Marines during the Korean War.

He is survived by his children: Charles W. Miller, Jr. and his wife, Karen of Greenville, Donna J. Moan and her husband, Keith of Smithfield, Cindy-Lou Silva and her husband, Donald of Coventry and Dwayne A. Miller of Providence, his nine grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and a sister Sandra J. Brown of Johnston. He was the brother of the late Joan A. Anderson.

A Masonic ceremony to which relatives and friends are invited will be held February 11th at 6:30pm at the Grand Lodge of Freemasons of RI, 222 Taunton Avenue, East Providence. Burial with Military Honors will be held Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at 11:30am in the RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104
