Clifford “Denny” Dove, 80, of Mystic, Georgia, died Wednesday, January 22, 2020, at Tifton Health & Rehabilitation Center in Tifton, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Saturday, January 25, 2020, at Mystic Baptist Church in Mystic, Georgia, with the Rev. Ike Thomas and the Rev. Joey Whitley officiating. Interment will follow in the Mystic Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening, from 6 PM until 8 PM, at the funeral home in Ocilla.
Mr. Dove was born February 3, 1939, in Irwin County, Georgia, to the late Dennis Jackson & Mildred Turner Dove. He lived in the community all of his life and was a mechanic for Ocilla Truck & Implement and Wal-Mart. He enjoyed fishing and watching baseball. Mr. Dove was a member of Mystic Baptist Church where he served as a former treasurer and deacon.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Annette Dove of Mystic; children: Steven Dove & Kam of Anna, Texas, George Dowdy & Geraldine of Mystic, Yvonne von Hahman of New Port Richey, Florida and Greg Dowdy & Margaret of Irwinville; 16 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three grandchildren: Rebecca Dove, Wesley Ryan O’Neil and David Dowdy; a great-grandson, Andrew Joyce; a brother, Herman Dove and a sister, Barbara Jean Stringer.
