Obituary

Lucy was born in Providence, RI to parents J. Thomas and Bernice (Faatz) Jackson. She had one older brother, Tom. Her childhood included time spent visiting relatives in Clinton, MA. Due to her father’s job, the family lived in Cambridge,, Malden, and Melrose. Lucy graduated from Melrose High School in 1956 and attended and received her RN from the Clinton Hospital School of Nursing.

A major part of Lucy’s life was spent in Malden where she volunteered for years at the local Bread of Life. She enjoyed traveling on trips with her parents and Aunt Erna that included summers on the New England coast and the White Mountains of New Hampshire. She made several trips to California to see her brother Tom and his family. Many special vacations were taken with her brother and sister-in-law Carmella over the years. Beyond travel, Lucy loved Christmas and always decorated for other holidays throughout the year. Daily chats with her brother become a fond routine. Of special note was her love of cats.

Family is extremely grateful to those who cared for Lucy, both at her apartment in Malden and at her last home at Glen Ridge Nursing Care Center.. Long-time friend Jack La Fave’s faithful care and affection for Lucy is appreciated more than words can say. Lucy maintained dear friendships, among them high school friend Nancy Wilson and husband Dave, Gabriella Stalmark, Deanne Caldwell,Tom Feagley, Mary Repetto, Chrissy Turner, and Glen Ridge
roommate, Paula Galvin.

Lucy is survived by her brother, Tom, sister-in-law, Carmella, both from Whittier, CA, Jack La Fave, a few other relatives, and her beloved cat Dunkin’.

Visiting hours will be from the A. J. Spadafora Funeral Home, 865 Main Street, Malden on
Monday, January 27th from 10-11 am. A service will be held at the funeral home at 11am.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment will be at Forest Dale
Cemetery, Malden where she will be laid to rest next to her parents. “Goodbye, little sister.”
