Obituary

SPRINGFIELD – Therese D. (Dussault) Plasse, 84, of the Hungry Hill section of Springfield, was Called Safely Home on Monday, January 20, 2020. She passed into Eternal Life at her home surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Sherbrooke, Province of Quebec, Canada on May 1, 1935, a beloved daughter of the late Victor and Lucille (Melancon) Dussault. She was raised in Sherbrooke, moved to the North End section of Springfield in 1956 and later moved to Hungry Hill in 1967. She was employed for many years at the Big Y on Saint James Avenue in Springfield in the meat and seafood departments. She previously worked at the Steigers Department Store at the Springfield Plaza. She was a longtime communicant of the former Saint Thomas Aquinas Church in the North End section of Springfield and, after its closing, was a communicant of Saint Mary Church, now Mary, Mother of Hope Church in East Springfield. She was a member of the Springfield Golden Age Club and the Hungry Hill Senior Center. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and her many friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Marcel J. “Mac” Plasse who was Called Home on August 13, 2006. They were married in the Church of Sainte Famille in Sherbrooke, Province of Quebec, Canada on July 14, 1956 and were blessed with just over 50 years of happiness together. She leaves her loving children, Michel L. Plasse and his wife, Lisa, of Ridgewood, NJ and Francine L. Hebert and her husband, Bernie, of South Windsor, CT; her six cherished grandchildren whom she adored, Brian and Nicholas Plasse, twins Ashley and Amanda Plasse and Stephanie and Chelsea Hebert; her three dear sisters and her dear brother, Alice Dussault, Gaston Dussault, Denise Martin and her husband, Claude, and Ginnette Dussault, all of Sherbrooke, P.Q., Canada; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended family members. Her relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Friday, January 24, 2020 from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. followed by an 11 a.m. Celebration of Life Service at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, (413-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107. Her burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, 292 Hampden Street, Chicopee, MA 01013. In Lieu of Flowers, memorial donations may be made in her memory to the Shriners Hospital for Children, Springfield Unit, 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104.
