Thomas Winterbottom 61, of Bourne, MA died January 19,2020 after a 2 year struggle with cancer.
Born in Acushnet on January 26, 1958, he was the son of the late Albert and Doris R. (Brun) Winterbottom, he was raised in Fairhaven and graduated from Fairhaven High School.
A rugged outdoorsman, he spent much of his life scalloping, including several years in Alaska. Tom loved gardening, fishing, clam bakes and cookouts with friends. He was a talented artist who liked sketching and painting wildlife. He’s remembered by family and friends for being a fun loving guy with simple tastes.
He is survived by brother, Richard of Fairhaven, sister Bette Ann Huyser of Nantucket, sister Mary of Fairhaven and sister Nancy Rendal of Easton. He leaves several nieces, nephews and many very dear friends.
He was the brother of the late Joan Shaw.
Per Tom’s wishes services are private. The family thanks the staff of Royal Cape Cod Nursing facility for their excellent, loving care and Fidelis Hospice for their care, support and warmth.
