Obituary

Lorraine K. (Scopa) Fama, of Medford, died Tuesday at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital. She was 64.


Lorraine was born and raised in East Boston, the daughter of the late Ralph and the late Elizabeth (Schirappa) Scopa. After her marriage she and Leo settled in Medford over 42 years ago. Lorraine was a very active member of the Order of Sons of Italy. She was a founding member of the Golden Lion Lodge in Medford. She was a past State Vice President and also served as a national officer. She woked for the City of Medford in the treasurers office, served Temple Shalom, Medford as the business manger and work for the Commonwealth in the Treasurer’s Office.


She was the beloved wife of Leo S. Fama, Sr. She was a devoted mother of Atty. Leo S. Fama, II and his wife Jeana of Lynnfield. She was a cherished Nana to Jillian, Joseph, Stephen, Julianna and special “Nana” to Anthony Paul Carroll. She was a dear sister to Frances Quarantello of Las Vegas, Anna Mae Sciardo, Joseph Scopa both of Fla, Robert Scopa of East Boston, and the late Ralph Scopa.


Relatives and friends may visit Friday from 4 - 8 at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Saturday at 10 AM in St. Francis Of Assisi Church, Medford, with the Rev. Joseph Foster celebrant. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Mausoleum, Everett.
