SCARBOROUGH- Michelle Waterman, age 61, passed away on Jan. 14, 2020 at Southern Maine Healthcare in Biddeford.
Born in Pierre, So Dakota, a member of a large close-knit military family, Michelle attended Scarborough schools. Michelle was a gentle soul, admired for her exceptional love of family, children and animals. After marrying her high school sweetheart Dale, they welcomed a son Troy. It was then that Michelle embarked on a successful career in childcare. She was so loved by her many “kids” that the first generation would later return with their own babies, telling her they wished for their children to experience Michelle’s loving care. She showered animals with the same care and kindness. She was always in the company of multiple dogs and routinely traversed the property of their Scarborough home to place food for the various small animals living through Maine winters. Michelle will be deeply missed by her family and friends and forever remembered as the exemplification of kindness, selflessness and gentleness. Michelle leaves behind her husband and son, Dale and Troy; her brothers Sean and Dennis Meehan; sisters Nadeen Daniels and Laura Larochelle; and many grieving brother and sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews. She would want us to remember her mom, dad, and brothers Liam and Ned, who passed before her. We are at peace in our belief that she will once again frolic in their loving company.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday Jan. 22, from 5 - 7 PM at the Chad E. Poitras Cremation and Funeral Service Chapel, 498 Long Plains Road (Rt.22) in Buxton.
