William F. Parks, 63

William F. Parks, age 63, of Mansfield, formerly of East Dedham, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Monday, January 13, 2020 at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. He was the beloved husband of Lynne S. (Whalen) Parks, to whom he was wed for forty-four years.

Born in Waltham, MA on February 23, 1956, he was a loving son of the late William and Evelyn (Hathaway) Parks.

Bill grew up in East Dedham and was educated in Dedham Schools. During the Vietnam War, he proudly served his country from 1973-1975 as a member of the United States Navy.

A resident of Mansfield for the past sixteen years, Mr. parks had been employed for many years as an air conditioning installer for the HVAC company of Boston Environmental. Bill enjoyed taking cruises and vacationing with family and friends. His hobbies included watching television, being a loyal supporter of his beloved New England patriots and at the time of death was anticipating the birth of his ninth grandchild.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his devoted children Scott D. Parks of Mansfield, Joseph W. Parks of Attleboro and Colleen M. Parks-Day of Mansfield, who was pre-deceased by her husband Matthew Day. He was the cherished grandfather of Damien, Haley, Anissa, Theresa, Paul, Matthew, Robert and Isabella. He was the dear brother of the late Evelyn Parks.

Visiting hours, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Friday, January 24th from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield.

A service will be held at the conclusion of visitation on Friday evening at 8:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home. Burial will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, Bill’s family has requested that donations in his memory be made to the American Cancer Society, 3 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
