Jan Woods Morris, age 66, of Americus, Georgia, passed away Saturday, January 11, 2020 at her residence.
Memorial services will be held 2 PM, Saturday, January 25, 2020 at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald, Georgia, with Chaplain Greg Crowder officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mrs. Morris was born November 15, 1953, in Tifton, Georgia, to the late Herbert H. Woods and the late Merlene Baker Woods Leggett. She earned an Associate’s degree in foreign language from Darton College in Albany. Mrs. Morris lived most of her life in Americus and was the senior administrative assistant for Sumter Electric. She was of the Nazarene faith.
She is survived by her sons and their spouses: John Carl “J.C.” Morris & Cindy of LaGrange and Joseph Lee Morris & Tara of Kathleen; seven grandchildren: Ryan, Whitnie, Crystin, Jordan, Ansley, Lacey, and Evan; step-father, Bill Leggett of Fitzgerald; siblings: Tim & Sandy Woods and Chris & Carroll Wells, all of Fitzgerald; and a sister-in-law, Debbie Woods of Fitzgerald. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Carl Morris and a brother, Bobby Woods.
The family suggests those desiring to send memorials may send them to St Jude’s or to the American Cancer Society.
