Obituary



Fall River – Mariano B. “Moran” Costa, 87, of State Road, Westport died Tuesday, January 31, 2006 at Crawford Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was the husband of the late Jorgina (Silva) Costa.

He was born in Fall River, son of the late Manuel and Alexandria (Terceiro) Costa, and had resided in Westport since 1950. Prior to his retirement he was a truck driver for the former Old Colony of New Bedford and also worked for the former J & J Box Corporation of Franklin, MA in 1975. He was a United States Army Veteran of WWII. Mr. Costa was a member of the Happy Wanders Club, Mt. Hope Chapter N.A.F.C.A., Fall River Rod & Gun Club, High Hill Fox & Coon Club of Westport and was a former member of the Coachman Club # 35.

He is survived by a son: Daniel Costa and his wife Concorde “Connie” Costa of Fall River; 2 granddaughters; 1 great granddaughter; 2 great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was brother of the late Mary Terceira, Anthony Costa, Agnes Carvalho and Jesse Costa.

Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be from the Potter Funeral Home, 81 Reed Road, Westport, Saturday, February 4, 2006 at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Grace Church, Westport at 10:00 A.M.

Calling hours Friday 4 – 7 P.M.


Interment will be in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
