Obituary

Aguinel A. Rose, 95, of New Bedford passed away Thursday January 9, 2020 at St. Luke’s Hospital after a brief illness. He was the husband of Benvinda (Ramos Leon) Rose.

Born on Nantucket, the son of the late Antone and Matilda (Gonsalves) Rose, he lived in New Bedford for most of his life.

He was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Assumption Church.

Mr. Rose was a master electrician who owned and operated Rose Electrical Service. He established the business in 1953 and continued working into his eighties.

During World War II, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater.

He was a member of the Master Electricians Association.

He is survived by his wife, Benvinda; four children, Michael Rose and his wife Maria of Marietta, GA, David Rose, Carol Rose Wills, and Jeffrey Rose, all of New Bedford; his sister, Anna Jacintho of New Bedford; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

He was the father of the late Robert P. Rose, grandfather of the late Olivia Fisher-Rose, and brother of the late Domingo Rose and Margaret Lopes.

His Funeral will be held on Saturday January 18, 2020 at 8 AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, followed by his Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 9 AM.
