James P. Yanakopulos, 65, of Medford, formerly of Malden, January 10th. Beloved husband of Christina L. (Cronin) Yanakopulos. Father of Christina Cater and her husband Daniel of Billerica, Amber Yanakopulos of Medford, Julia Yanakopulos and her partner Mike Tortorici of Malden and Paul Yanakopulos and his wife Kayla of Newmarket, NH. Grandfather of Copeland and Cordelia. Son of Mabel (Lindley) (Yanakopulos) Milligan of Tewksbury and the late Paul J. Yanakopulos. Brother of Katherine Ippolito and her husband James of Tewksbury and Joseph Yanakopulos and his wife Sherri of Tennessee. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. James was raised and educated in Malden. He worked as an IT Specialist at the HP Hood Company for 45 years. James was a well known youth sports coach in Medford, coaching football, basketball and baseball. First and foremost, he was a man who was dedicated to his wife and family. Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours at the Breslin Funeral Home, 610 Pleasant St., Malden on Wednesday January 15th from 4-8 PM. A funeral service will be conducted at the Wesley United Methodist Church, 100 Winthrop St., Medford on Thursday January 16th at 10 AM. Interment is private.
