Wilbert Gallop, 88 years, died Monday evening at Embassy House Nursing Center after a period of failing health. Born, raised and educated in Jarvisburg, NC he was the son of the late Joseph and Maggie (Jarivs) Gallop. He had been employed for many years on the LL Dozier Farm in Jarvisburg. He had been a resident of Boston from 1974 to 1996 before moving to Brockton. He enjoyed playing cards, checkers, dominos and watches. He will be remembered as always being friendly with a warm smile for everyone.
He is survived by two nieces Rosa Mitchell and Mrs. Van Littleton both of Brockton, and many great nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Elenora Gallop, James, Claude, Ray, Teeney, Juney and Joseph Gallop.
A Graveside Service will be held on Friday at 1pm in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton. Deacon Michael Mitchell will officiate.
