Arthur B. Jordan passed away peacefully at the Massachusetts General Hospital on Thursday evening. He was 81.
The son of the late Arthur and Geraldine (Dick) Jordan, Arthur was a graduate of Medford Vocational High School. Arthur served in the Massachusetts Army National Guard for 12 years. Before embarking on a long career in the automatic door industry, he was a performing magician and entertained family friends and groups with his talent. He continued to share some of his best tricks with his kids and grandchildren throughout the years. Arthur considered himself “the professor of door-ology”. He began his career working as a mechanic on automatic and revolving doors. Soon he advanced into sales, consultation, design and innovation of products within his industry. He also earned advanced certification in his field. Arthur was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and dear friend to many.
The beloved husband of the late Josephine M. (Previti) Jordan, he leaves his devoted children: Anthony Jordan of Medford, Theresa M. Beaudoin and her husband Stephan of Londonderry, NH, Connie Dacey and her husband Kevin of Revere. He was a loving grandfather to Christopher, Haley, Sean, Gabrielle, Danielle, Crystalle, Carolyn and Michael. Arthur was a loving step-grandfather to Alexandria and Brent, and loving great-grandfather to Zachary and Lillianna. He is predeceased by his siblings but is survived by many dear nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may visit on Monday, January 13, at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford from 4 thru 8 PM and again on Tuesday, January 14 at 10:30 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 441 Fellsway West, Medford, at 11:30 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
