Mario M. Lochiatto, age 80, of Brighton, died Monday, January 30, 2006 in Brockton at the Bay Point Nursing Home after a brief illness. Mario was the beloved husband of the late Marjorie (Ross) Lochiatto. Born in Boston he was the son of the late Elvira (Dello Russo) & Carmine Lochiatto. Mario was a lifelong resident of Brighton.
Mario was a US Coast Guard Veteran, having served during WW II, Korea and Vietnam. In his spare time Mario enjoyed bowling and regular visits to test his luck on the horses.
In addition to his beloved wife, Mario is survived by his devoted daughters, Geraldine Pomponio of Uxbridge and Deborah Gatta of Medford, his sons Michael of Wilmington, Joseph of Abington, Ronald of Medford and John of West Roxbury. Also survived by 7 loving grandchildren. Brother of Robert of Mississippi, Carlo of Falmouth, Dorothy Griffin and Margaret Scolly both of Auburn.
A committal service will be held Friday, February 3, 2006 at 10:45 AM at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
A collation to follow at the Abington Ale House, 1235 Bedford St. Rt. 18, Abington, MA, from 1 – 5 pm.
