Margaretta (Greene) Compton, 101, of Franklin, died peacefully Saturday, January 4, 2020 in the Medway Country Manor. She was the wife of the late Melvin S. Compton.
Born in Dorchester, March 13, 1918, the daughter of the late George G. and Lillian (Hird) Greene, she was a graduate of Girls High School, Boston.
Margaretta was a resident of West Medway for many years before moving to Franklin in 1956.
She is survived by her children, Paul R. Compton and Diane J. Compton of Franklin and Melanie J. Compton of Pawtucket, Rhode Island.
She was the mother of the late David B. Compton of Blackstone and Todd J. Compton of Pawtucket.
Funeral services are private at the request of her family.
Arrangements are under the care of the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin.
