Joseph L. Ropple, of Woburn, passed away peacefully, January 7, 2020, at the Bear Mountain Nursing Home in Reading following a lengthy period of declining health. He was 85 years of age. Joseph was the beloved husband of the late Margaret E. (Burke) Ropple. Born in Charlestown he was the son of the late William and Mary (Daly) Ropple.
Joseph was raised and educated in Charlestown and has been a Woburn resident for well over fifty years. He worked for many years prior to his retirement as a bookkeeper for several different companies and business throughout his career. Mostly a homebody, Joseph will fondly be remembered for gentle personality and his simple needs. He loved working on crossword puzzles and his greatest joy was to be surrounded by his family and those he loved. He will be missed.
Joseph is survived by his children; Joseph Ropple Jr., and his wife Jenny of CA, Susan Linder and her husband Mike of Millbury, Judy Ropple and her husband Vernon of Alton, NH, David Ropple and his wife Coral of Derry, NH, Debra Capano and her husband Dante of Lynn. He is also survived by eleven loving grandchildren. Brother of Elaine Sullivan of Somerville, John Ropple of Texas and is further survived by many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted in the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., WOBURN, Monday, January 13th, at 11 am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and visit with the family prior to the service starting at 9 a.m. Services will conclude with burial at Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Joseph's memory to The Society of St. Vincent de Paul Boston, 18 Canton St., Stoughton, MA 02072.
