Jacquelyn D. Alarie, age 82, passed away on Jan 6, 2020 surrounded by the care and comfort of her family. She was born in Springfield on Jul 5, 1937 to the late James and Althea (Knight) Durfee. She worked as a preschool teacher for many years and also as a home health aid. Jacquelyn was a stage manager for local playgroups and a member of the Wachague Church Choir. Jacquelyn was predeceased by her husband Leon Alarie who passed away in 2019. She leaves two daughters, Pamalyn Fournier and her husband Mark of Chicopee and Coral Wright and her husband Charles of Co; one sister, Rae Heather; eight grandchildren, Lealyn, James, Wendy, Sabrina, Briana, Crystal, Candice, Cassandra; two step grandchildren, Daniel and Kristen and seventeen great grandchildren. A Funeral Service will be held on Fri, Jan 10, 2020 at 9 a.m. at Grise Funeral Home 280 Springfield St. Chicopee with a funeral home service at 10 a.m. Burial will take place on Mon, Jan 13, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Woodland Dell Cemetery in Wilbraham. Visiting Hours will be held on Thurs, Jan 9, 2020 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
