LOWELL—Gertrude A. Gleason, 88 years old, died early Tuesday morning, January 31st, at Saints Memorial Medical Center.
She was born in Lowell, on February 6, 1917, a daughter of the late John F. and Gertrude L. (Mahon) Gleason.
For over 20 years she had been employed by the Colonial Gas Company, in Lowell. She also worked as a salesperson at the Bell Shop, in downtown Lowell. After her retirement, she was affiliated as a volunteer worker with the Lowell Council on Aging, and St. Joseph’s Hospital, Lowell.
Surviving her are several nieces and nephews: Debra Tenczar, of Pelham, NH; Joan Ciambella, of Windham, NH; Paul F. Gleason, of Chelmsford; Marie Gleason-Tada, of Tyngsboro; and Mark Gleason, of Northfield, MN.
She was the sister of the late Frederick Gleason and John Gleason.
Friends may call from 3 to 7 PM Thursday, February 2nd, at the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 Nesmith Street, (Rte. 38). Her Funeral Mass to be offered Friday, February 3rd, 9 AM at the IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CHURCH. Burial in St. Patrick Cemetery.
