Marcelina M. "Mana" (Ramos) Lopes, 94, of New Bedford died January 4, 2020 peacefully at home.
Born in New Bedford, daughter of the late Joaquim and Mary G. (Gomes) Ramos, she lived in New Bedford all of her life.
She was formerly employed by Cornell-Dublier for many years until her retirement.
Mrs. Lopes enjoyed reading and was an avid Boston sports fan.
She was a member a member of the Cape Verdean Ultramarine Band Club and the Cape Verdean Youth Athletic Association and she enjoyed going to the Cape Verdean-American Veterans Association.
Survivors include 3 sons, Antonio "Tony" Lopes and his wife Ione of Deltona, FL, Terencio "Terry" Lopes and his wife Arlette of New Bedford and Lourenco "Larry" Lopes and his wife Tracy of Mesa, AZ; 2 daughters, Isabel "Bella" Strait and her husband Joseph and Deolinda Strait and her husband Michael, all of New Bedford; many Godchildren including Marcia Williams of New Bedford; 2 nieces, Karen Ramos and Susan Ramos; a nephew, Steven Ramos; 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was the sister of the late Manuel "Rusty" Ramos, Rose Ramos and Antone "Tony" Ramos and the niece of the late Sabina Ramos.
Her Funeral will be held on Friday, January 10th at 8 AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, followed by her Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 9 AM. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Thursday, January 9th from 4-8 PM.
