Obituary

Funeral services for Ruth Beard Youngblood, 97, of Ashburn, GA will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2019 at the Ashburn First Baptist Church. Mrs. Youngblood passed away Sunday in Americus following an extended illness. Interment will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Ashburn.

The daughter of the late George Dewey and Mozella Poore Beard she was born in Turner County and was a member of the Ashburn First Baptist Church. She was retired from the ASCS office in Ashburn.

She loved to golf, the Atlanta Braves, playing Rummikub, cook and fish. She was known for her special chocolate covered peanuts. She was a loving mother, granny, great-granny and great-great granny

She is survived by her daughter, Vicki (Dale) Hobby of Ashburn; grandchildren, Hugh (Peggy) Hardy, Jr. of Ashburn, Heather Hill of Adel, Heath (Jessica) Hardy of Ashburn and Chipper Hobby of Ashburn; great-grandchildren, Ivey Hardy, Brady Hardy, Brittney (Tyler) Martin, Zack Hill, Josh Hill, Jeremy Hill, Noah Hardy, Dylan Hardy, Mason Hardy, Kalem Hobby and Khloe Hobby; great-great grandchildren, Cohen Hardy, Remi Hardy and Avery Ruth Martin.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years Ivey Youngblood, her siblings, Dewey Beard, Josie Peacock, Bo Beard, Myrtle Beard, Obie Beard, Curtis Beard, Ottis Beard, Joyce Shearer, Donald Beard and Shirley Whiddon.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until time of services on Tuesday at the Ashburn First Baptist Church.
