Obituary

Ret CMSGT James Jesse Fisher, 75, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Friday, 03 January, 2020, at Legacy Village in Tifton.

A private service will be held at the Rostrum at Andersonville National Cemetery in Andersonville, Georgia, with full military honors.

Ret CMSGT Fisher was born 18 November 1944, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to the late James Samuel & Mildred Eckler Fisher. After graduating from Lincoln High School in Philadelphia, he attended Moody Bible Institute. He later joined the United States Air Force where he served his country honorably for 30 years. He served two tours in Vietnam and did tours in over 20 countries. Following his retirement from the Air Force, he worked as a civilian contractor for 16 years and ended his working career with three years in civil service. He was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Carol Smith Fisher of Fitzgerald; children: James S. Fisher, Sr. & Tonya and Kelley Fisher; grandchildren: James S. Fisher, Jr., Noah William Jesse Fisher, Ryan Bondurant, Emily Bondurant, Rebecca Rineair, Natalie Wadsworth, Laurie Clark, and Laura Wadsworth; great-grandchildren: Victoryah Rineair, Dilen Rineair, Jordan Clark, Riley Clark, Lorelei Heath, Layla Wadsworth, and Jake Wadsworth; a brother, William & Barbara Fisher of Lansdale, Pennsylvania; and a niece, Monica & Steve Guzman. He was preceded in death by a niece, Becky Fisher.
