Obituary

Jack L. Smith, 87, Anderson, died December 31, 2019 at his residence after an extended illness.
He was born June 9, 1932, in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of Jesse (Kincaid) Vukich.
Jack served in the United States Army then was a truck driver for Emge Packing and a security guard at Hoosier Park. He loved woodworking. He was a member of Solar Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed putting puzzles together and spending time with family.
Jack is survived by his four children, Sherry Smith, Lori (Randy) Nivens and Keith Smith all of Anderson; and Jan (Mike) Keevin of Fortville; brother, John (Delores) Vukich of St. Charles, MO; five grandchildren, Jason (Jill) Nivens, Dustin Nivens, Brittany Hosier, Erika (Ben) Tate and Brian Smith; four great-grandchildren, Max Nivens, Wyatt Nivens, Kennedy Turner and Shade Riddle; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother; wife, Joan Smith died in 2006; grandparents, Ola Mae and Roy Kincaid; brother, James Vukich and sister, Diane Hennis.
Graveside service will be 1:30 P.M. East Maplewood Cemetery on Saturday, January 4, 2020 where military graveside rites will be conducted with the service by Pastor Daniel Stevens of Grace Baptist Church.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Wounded Warriors.
