William Preston Carter, age 82, of Chase City, Virginia, passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2020. He was born October 9, 1937 and was the son of the late Thomas Edward Carter and the late Lula Beck Cooper Carter.
He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Skipwith, Virginia.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Nannie Carter, Odell Owen, Alma Carter, and Dean Gosney and brothers, Richard Lee Carter, Raylond Carter, Andrew Carter, Roy Carter, Drewery Carter, Marks Carter, Fred Carter, Hugh Carter, John Carter and Pete Carter.
Preston is survived by numerous nieces and nephews; his special family friends, Tammy and Elic Trent and Lisa Chriscoe; and his devoted caregiver, Angie Dunn.
A Graveside Service will be held Saturday, January 4, 2020 at 3 p.m. at the Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery, 1260 Wilkerson Road, Skipwith, VA 23968.
