Obituary

SEBAGO- Mike (Ralph) Edward Foley, age 74, passed away peacefully after a long battle with cancer on December 31, 2019. He was born in Portland, ME on January 8, 1945. Mike Foley is predeceased by his parents, Ed and Eleanor Foley of Gorham, ME and survived by his wife, Rebecca L. Foley. Mike was employed with American Steel and Aluminum as a Steel Salesman for over thirty years and ended his career at MacFarlane Steel Corp. for ten years. Mike was a staple in the Sebago community and was self certified as a Sebago Guide, also neighborhood selected as Homeland Security, was the self proclaimed host at Four Seasons and Jordan’s and was on constant neighborhood watch for all of his friends on the Hawkes Rd.

Mike Foley-
To try to put into words what this man meant to all that knew him, is very difficult to do. You didn’t just meet mike, you experienced him. He was truly one of a kind- as honest as they come, loyal, loving, and always up for a good time. His favorite times were spent with family and friends. He loved hunting and fishing. Mike enjoyed and embraced life’s “kodak” moments, even though he captured all of his memories on a Rite Aid disposable camera. Mike was always the center of attention, no matter where he was, and made friends everywhere. He was loved and respected by so many. He loved his home, with his friends in Sebago, and enjoyed spending time at his camp (A.K.A the “Sweat Lodge”, because he kept it at 100°) in Bingham, where, of course, he made many more friends all over town, with his wife, dog, and family each year.
Some of our fondest memories of Mike are: the nights at camp when he’d perform his infamous dance moves to Country Gold, the way he laughed at his own jokes, his honest and direct advice, his harmonica playing, always being the last one at the campfire while talking to himself (and everyone else laughing from inside), his phone calls out of the blue to solve the worlds problems, his arm wrestling contests (even challenging a 7 foot, 300lb bodybuilder), his love of Corvettes, happy hour being any time of the day, winning Fan of the Game at the Bruins (again, because of the dancing), and so many more. He was constantly going 100mph, but always slowed down for those he loved.
Mike was truly the center of our family, the neighborhood, and all that knew him. Mike would want everyone that knew him to grab a Budweiser, celebrate his life, remember the fondest memories and all the stories that make you smile, his words of wisdom over the years, and his friendship versus his battles with health over the recent years. His spirit, love, and memories will always be with us and he will certainly live on with each of us.

To the husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, and friend that God had placed in each and every one of our lives, you will truly be missed… but never forgotten.

Mike is survived by many loved ones; Wife- Becky Foley; Children- Son Patrick Foley (Wife- Melissa); Son Shawn Scammon (Wife- Jennifer); Daughter Darcy Foley (Fiancé- Travis); and Daughter Crystal Beaulieu (Husband- Brian); Siblings- Brother Timothy Foley (Wife- Audrey); Sister Gail Irish (Husband- Craig);
Nieces and Nephews- Chris Foley; Edward Ridlon, Angela McMahon; Grandchildren- Adam, Jordan, Samantha F, Sammi J, Chandler, Nathan, Jaida, Lilly, and Tyler; Great Grandchildren- Jayden, Owen, Carson, Camden, and Xander.

In lieu of flowers, Mike would greatly appreciate a donation to the charity of your choice.
