Obituary

AUBURN-Alden A. Blomstrom, 85, of 7 Old Cart Road, died Sunday January 29th after a short illness. He leaves his wife of 67 years, Eleanor (Fournier) Blomstrom of Auburn, 2 sons, Kurt A. and Steven A. Blomstrom, both of Auburn, a daughter, Karen L. Prouty of Auburn, 8 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, many nephews and nieces. A son Wayne A. Blomstrom, a daughter Barbara A. Marrino, and 3 brothers predeceased him.

He was born in Worcester the son of Adolf F. and Anna (Larson) Blomstrom and would be celebrating his 86th birthday today. Mr. Blomstrom attended Commerce High School, graduating in 1938. He was a WWII U.S. Army veteran. Mr. Blomstrom was the owner and operator of General Machine & Tool, Inc. for 24 years. He was a member of the Chester Tuttle Post 279 American Legion in Auburn. He was a pianist, playing with dance bands in the Worcester area for many years. He enjoyed golfing and traveling with his wife.

The funeral is Thursday, February 2nd, with a service at 10:30 AM in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. A calling hour will be held from 9:00 AM until the time of the funeral.
