Mrs. Denzell (Nell) Spurlock Gill, 94, of 128 Fulwood Boulevard, Tifton died Sunday, January 29, 2006. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 2, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. in the Memorial Chapel of the First Baptist Church in Tifton. Dr. Wayne Roe and Dr. W. Ches Smith, III will officiate with burial to follow in Oakridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening, February 1, 2006, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson.
Ms. Gill was born on October 21, 1911 in Avoyelles Parish, LA and was the daughter of Thomas Jefferson Spurlock and Maude Marshall Spurlock, both deceased. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, where she had taught Sunday School since she was 12 years old.
Ms. Gill is survived by 2 daughters and sons-in-law: Mary Esther and William Brassell of Morganton, NC and Caroline and Sam Lee of Jacksonville, FL; 4 granddaughters, Mary Catherine Garand and husband Don, Melissa Woody and husband Bill, Emily Brassell and Claire Brassell; 1 grandson and his wife, David and Michelle Lee; 3 great grandchildren, Tyler Lee, Ryan Garand and Tessa Garand.
