CHARLTON-Maura E. (O’Rourke) Hammond, 45, of 7 Freighthouse Road, formerly of Auburn died Saturday, January 28th in UMass-Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. She leaves her husband of 17 years, Glen A. Hammond, her 3 daughters, Erin L., Shannon M. and Caitlin E. Hammond all of Charlton, her mother, Sheila (Campbell) O’Rourke, 2 brothers, Gordon O’Rourke of Leicester and her twin, David O’Rourke of Worcester, 3 sisters Margaret M. O’Grady of Charlton, Eileen O’Rourke of Bermuda and Anne M. Casey of Jamaica Plain.
She was born in Worcester her father was the late Patrick O’Rourke. Mrs. Hammond was a graduate of Quinsigamond Community and Anna Maria Colleges. She was employed as a paralegal for Rubin, Rubin and Wilcox. Mrs. Hammond was a member of St. Joseph’s Church in Charlton. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, daughter and sister.
The funeral is Tuesday, January 30th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Joseph’s Church, 10 H Putnam Extension, Charlton. Burial will be in Northside Cemetery, Charlton. Calling hours are Monday, January 30th from 4:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
