Evelyn Atheline McGee Pitts, 81, of Pace, Florida, died Monday, December 9, 2019, at West Florida Hospital in Pensacola, Florida.
Funeral services will be held 3 PM, Thursday, December 12, 2019, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald, Georgia, with the Rev. Ion Johns officiating. Interment will follow in Irwinville Cemetery, Irwin County. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Thursday.
Mrs. Pitts was born December 12, 1937, in Mystic, Georgia, to the late William Edward & Mary Evelyn Ivey McGee. She was a bus driver for Santa Rosa County, Florida for many years. While living in southeast Georgia, she was a member of TOPS in Waycross. She was a member of Grace Community Church of God in Hoboken and attended Pace Assembly of God after moving to Pace, Florida.
She is survived by six children: Kenny (Sharon) Pitts of Perdido, FL, Daniel Pitts of Minot, ND, Mary (John) Peterson of Waycross, GA, Teresa Geiger (Herbert Bingham) of Pace, FL, Jimmy Hairston of Pace, FL, and Stephanie Geiger of Pace, FL; 14 Grandchildren and 15 Great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mose Daniel Pitts; three grandchildren and seven brothers and sisters.
