Marilyn E. Avallone, 88

Dateline: Cape Coral, Florida

Marilyn E. (McLeod) Avallone, age 88, of Cape Coral, Florida, formerly of Mansfield, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 6, 2019 at Hope Hospice in Cape Coral, Florida. She was the beloved wife of the late James V. Avallone.

Born in Brockton, MA on May 17, 1931, she was a loving daughter of the late William R. and Edna G. (Willis) McLeod.

Marilyn grew up in Easton and Mansfield and was a graduate of Mansfield High School. She had made her home in Cape Coral since 1981 and was a former longtime resident of Mansfield.

A talented seamstress, Mrs. Avallone was the proud owner and operator of Sew It Seams in Florida and had formerly worked at the Foxboro Co. in Foxboro. She was a former communicant of Saint Mary’s Church in Mansfield and along with her late husband was a former active member and supporter of the Mansfield Band Parents Association and High School Color Guard. She loved spending time with her adoring family, sewing, crafts and ceramics.

She was the devoted mother of Andrew M. Avallone of cape Coral, Florida, Daniel J. Avallone of cape Coral, Florida and the late Cindy Avallone. She was the dear sister of the late E. Wuanita Madan and the loving aunt of Marilyn E. Boutin and her husband Robert of Fall River and the late William C. Madan who is survived by his wife Michelle Madan of Titusville, Florida and Brenda W. Paille.

Her funeral service, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Saturday, December 14th at 11:00 A.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield. Burial will follow at Saint Mary’s Cemetery in Mansfield.

Visitation will be held prior to the services on Saturday morning from 9:00-11:00 A.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, Marilyn’s family has requested that contributions in her memory be made to the Mansfield Band Parents Association, care of, Mansfield High School, 250 East St., Mansfield, MA 02048.
